Karin Dobnikar is an entrepreneur with a background in business, finance, strategy and research. She develops businesses and ideas around a central philosophy: the art of living well. Her work brings together strategic thinking and creativity, spanning new ventures, consumer concepts, publishing, writing and brand development. Alongside building her own projects, she works across business, strategy and creative fields internationally.

Karin is interested in what happens when an idea is taken seriously enough to become real. With a background in data science, finance and executive business, she approaches entrepreneurship with both curiosity and discipline—looking for gaps, questioning what already exists and building something better where she sees the possibility.
Her work spans product concepts, digital products, creative ventures and collaborations, with a particular interest in lifestyle, publishing, wellbeing, and the way thoughtful products can become part of everyday life.
She believes good business begins with paying attention: to people, to changing needs and to the small desires that others might overlook.
writing
Karin writes from observation, with little interest in making life prettier or simpler than it is.
She is drawn to beauty, desire, emotions, relationships, identity, ambition, loneliness, belonging, creativity and the search for meaning—the contradictions and quiet details that reveal something about how we live.
Alongside essays and personal writing, she creates fiction, children’s stories and imagined worlds, as well as editorial and brand content.
English and American literature are a constant source of interest, and she founded Book Club Ljubljana as a place to read, discover and talk about books with others.
At the heart of her work is curiosity: looking closely at life as it is, noticing what others might pass by, and turning those observations into something worth reading.
modelling
Karin first stepped in front of the camera earlier in life, before taking a different path and building a career outside the creative world. She is now returning to modelling with a stronger sense of herself and a particular interest in fashion, beauty, lifestyle and editorial work.
Modelling is another part of the same creative life she is building: a way to tell stories, work with people and brands, and create beautiful work that has something to say.
my little lilly
My Little Lilly is a story world inspired by one very small Pomeranian and her unusually big personality. Through illustrated stories and everyday adventures, Karin creates a gentle, playful world filled with friendship, courage, family, mischief and the kind of small moments one remembers.
Made for children, but with something for the adults reading beside them, Lilly’s world is a celebration of imagination, kindness and finding wonder in ordinary life.
